My stylish mum!

A project that I co-worked with mum, for six months. My design, but mum knitted the skirt herself and I knitted the jacket. The skirt had a ready plan, but the design for jacket grew with the project.

Yarn is Millefili Spa, a cashmere/wool blend – a real joy to knit! I used 2mm needles while mum used 2,5mm needles, I have so much looser gauge than most... The jacket “ate” 380g (size XXL) and if I remember correct the skirt “ate” about 300g. And there is still left some yarn for my own use!

After summer, dresses to the fall

My dress mode didn’t stop at the end of summer…  Apparently I’m a dress-person! I spent nearly every day during the summer in a dress. In two new ones:

But also in some older ones of my own design as well as some ready-to-wear ones.

And then I got in my head that I needed some new dresses for the fall also:

Basic models in printed fabrics.

And mustard dress with a knot-drape detail.

Altering for a mommy tummy

The before dress had a really lovely polka dot fabric:

…unfortunately the top didn’t have any shape and absolutely no room for boobs. The waistline needed also to go a bit higher so there would be room for a mommy tummy. A bit of white scrap fabric, some altering and the dress looks now like this:

Quite girly and enough room for a growing tummy!

Turquoise tulips

The tulip lace -pattern is from the Estonian Käsitöö magazine, spring 2012 issue. But the pullover is my own design, knitted in knit-rip-knit method :) That means that I tested once in a while to see how the pullover fitted and if it didn’t look good in the mirror… meant ripping and knitting all over again. And again, and again. Until I was satisfied with the result. And know I am!

I used 3 mm needles and some mystery yarn, tagged: MUSKAT, 100% Cotton, Nm 50/2x13 (and I have no idea what those numbers are?), 50g. Used exactly 10 skeins, 500g.

Grayish dress.

Knitted with 3 mm needles and about 470g of Phildar Phil Coton 3 yarn with my own measurements: wide shoulders and hips with kind of a tiny waist… Figured out how to knit a boat neck from top down :) Liking it a lot and the next project with similar design is on the way… There is plenty room for my shoulders in the dress and would be for even bigger boobs, so I need to continue experiments with how to get some room for my shoulders without the extra width for boobies…
