Karelia Dress

I bought some really lovely merino wool fabric called Karelia from Käpynen at this year's craft fair in Tampere. And I actually used it pretty soon too and didn't leave it to marinade in my stash :D


After pre-washing the fabric I cut it about like this:

No specific measurements. The fabric size was about 150 x 150 cm and I used all of it. Last pieces for pockets <3

Easy sewing with some details that really do make a difference when working with a stretchy knitted fabric; cotton jersey lining to the neckline:

and cotton jersey strand to shoulder seams to prevent stretching:

and hemming with a twin needle:

I'm so happy with my new dress that I've practically lived in now for a few weeks :D
